The SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to undertake a project to upgrade the enterprise SQL Server database environment to SQL Server 2008 in support of business systems. Other key requirements will include; Install and configure SQL Server 2008 in an optimally designed architectural environment; Upgrade instances and databases on SQL Server 2000/2005 to SQL Server 2008; Optimise databases to operate efficiently and effectively; Provide secondary level technical support and consultation for applications; Create, monitor and maintain maintenance jobs for database environments so that data integrity is maintained at optimal levels; Resolve reported technical difficulties with the application; Ensure backup and recovery policies are maintained to ensure continuity of services To be successful for this role you will require the following criteria; Demonstrated experience and skills in supporting SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 database environments within the framework of an overall IM architecture.
