Large Fort Worth based company within a thriving industry is seeking a Software Test Engineer for mission critical role working closely with an applications development and support team. RESPONSIBILITIES Create, maintain and execute test scripts, including manual test cases. Create test plans that incorporate functional testing, integration and regression testing. Review, evaluate for testability, and organize detailed test cases of all software projects. Prepare detail test plan options; consult with business analysts on testing options and strategies based on project requirements. Gather and organize application data from various sources for functional and end to end testing. Monitor testing activities and ensure they are completed as expected. Analyze conditions and identify strategies that maximize test coverage and improve system reliability. Participate in the development of a consistent testing methodology and environment. Guide and provide technical support and training of the QA staff and assist the Team Lead in the review and evaluation of the work of the staff. Assist in the development of overall QA plans and timetables. Identify defects and questionable functions; manage and coordinate resolution of defects through to closure. Identify deviations from coding and other standards and inconsistencies across programs. Track and report software defects for review by the development team. Manage issues and results reporting. REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES CSTE (Certified Software Test Engineer) or equivalent preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in software quality assurance/system testing. Experience in all stages of Software QA testing: functional, regression, integration, and performance testing. Competency in the principles and practices of quality control as it relates to software testing. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills required. Strong skill in writing SQL queries to do Back End testing (SQL Server 2005). Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task. Self starter with ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
